The BrewOps Rinse was created to tackle a common issue in brewing: excessive water waste during the cleaning process. Traditionally, brewers relied on:
- Time-based rinsing – Running rinse cycles for a set duration without knowing if all cleaning agents were removed
- pH test strips – Manual testing that slows down workflow and can be inconsistent
- Visual inspections – Ineffective at detecting trace amounts of residual caustic or acid
These methods often result in over-rinsing, wasting large amounts of water and time, or under-rinsing, leaving behind cleaning chemicals that could impact product quality.
-
Verifying CIP Rinse Completion
- Ensures all cleaning agents have been fully removed before moving to the next step
- Prevents unnecessary water usage by stopping the rinse at the right time
-
Confirming Proper Chemical Concentration
- Measures conductivity to verify correct dilution of caustic and acid-based solutions
- Helps brewers fine-tune SOPs for consistent cleaning performance
We knew there had to be a better way. Working alongside brewers, we designed the BrewOps Rinse—a portable, easy-to-use conductivity and temperature sensor that provides real-time feedback on rinse effectiveness. Instead of guessing, brewers can now:
- Instant rinse feedback via LED indicators and BrewOps app
- Reduce water waste by stopping rinse cycles at the optimal moment
- Improve cleaning consistency by ensuring proper chemical removal
When paired with the BrewOps Gateway, historical rinse data allows brewers to optimize their CIP process, saving time and resources while maintaining sanitation standards.
Today, breweries of all sizes use the BrewOps Rinse to:
- Streamline the CIP process and reduce unnecessary water usage
- Ensure cleaning chemical removal for better product quality
- Improve operational efficiency and sustainability
The BrewOps Rinse was built to solve a real problem, and it’s helping brewers make better, data-driven decisions every day.

The BrewOps Rinse sensor integrates seamlessly with the BrewOps App, allowing brewers to monitor rinse effectiveness in real time. Follow the steps below to set up, start, and monitor a rinse session.
- Open the BrewOps App and navigate to the bright tank, fermenter, or packaging line you want to monitor.
- Tap the Rinse icon located in the upper-right corner above the equipment image.
- A list of available BrewOps Rinse sensors will appear. Select the sensor you plan to use.
- The sensor status bar will change as follows:
- Grey → Not connected
- Yellow → Connecting
- Green → Connected
- The sensor’s LED lights will blink blue when successfully connected.
- Tap Next to continue.
- Enter an Activity Name for the rinse session.
Pro Tip: Include the tank ID for better record-keeping (e.g., BT 21 Rinse).
- Tap Next to proceed.
- Use the slider bar or +/- buttons to set the clean water conductivity threshold.
- The indicator bar will change color based on the conductivity level:
- Green → Below the maximum threshold (safe to proceed)
- Red → Above the maximum threshold (rinse not yet complete)
- The sensor will blink red until the threshold is reached.
- Tap Next to continue.
- Set the Threshold Delay (Minutes)—the time required before the sensor blinks green.
Pro Tip: Set at least 1–2 minutes to ensure a steady water flow past the sensor.
- Tap Save to finalize the setup.
- Once the BrewOps Rinse sensor connects, a green "Success" pop-up will confirm the process has started.
- Remain near the sensor for 30 seconds to ensure the settings upload successfully.
- The icon above the equipment will change from grey → green, indicating the activity is running.
- Blinks blue → Session is active
- Blinks green → Target conductivity threshold has been reached
The app will display real-time sensor readings, including:
- Conductivity (µS/cm)
- Temperature (°F)
- When the rinse cycle is complete, tap the Rinse icon and select Stop Activity from the pop-up menu.
- The sensor status bar will change as follows:
- Orange → Stopping
- Yellow → Disconnecting
- Grey → Session ended
- A green "Success" pop-up will confirm the rinse session has stopped.
- If the pop-up doesn’t appear, wait up to 30 seconds for the process to complete.
- The icon above the equipment will turn from green → grey, indicating the session has ended.
By following these steps, brewers can ensure efficient rinse cycles, reduce water waste, and maintain consistent cleaning results using the BrewOps Rinse.
